Nanshan Zen Temple is located on the north side of Nanshan Ruifeng Tower, Longtan Village, Yuelin Street, Fenghua District, Ningbo City. It was first established during the Tang Dynasty’s Xiantong era. Amidst the deep white clouds and within a dense bamboo forest, the temple’s halls stand majestically, with the phrase ‘The hall opens to the lotus of a thousand petals, and the tower displays the colors of seven leaves.’
During the Song Dynasty, a pavilion named Guangmo Xuan was built behind the main hall. It attracted many devout followers and literati who would ascend the stone steps, making it a popular spot for a time. Since the Song Dynasty, many people have left their inscriptions and poems here.
