The Longshan Mountain scenic area is located about 6 kilometers north of Tengzhou urban area in Shandong Province. It is known as the back garden of Tengzhou and is the top of the eight ancient scenic spots of Tengzhou. Liu Yong, a grand secretary of the cabinet in the Qing Dynasty, composed a quatrain chanting Tengzhou at the foot of Longshan Mountain: ‘Looking south at Weihu Lake, I cherish the night moon. Looking north at Longling Mountain, I admire the clear clouds.’ The scenic area has fully implemented 5.5 kilometers of high-standard footpaths and four star-rated toilets. Projects such as scenic area landmark stones, parking lots, and tourist service centers have been completed. A total of 38 large and small scenic spots such as the Chinese filial piety culture corridor, the restoration of the Jade Emperor Temple, Shengjing Spring, Zimu Spring, and Ganlu Spring have been newly built and upgraded. The core area of the scenic area, Longshou Peak, is 517 meters above sea level. In the mountain, there are giant cliff carvings of the characters ‘dragon’ and ‘blessing’ inscribed by Emperor Qianlong. There are also many cultural and historical sites such as the ancient Longquan Temple, the large three-sided Guanyin statue, Liu Yong’s place to pay tribute to his teacher and chant about Tengzhou, and the place where the county magistrate prayed for rain. The Wangfu Stone, the giant turtle stone, and the teapot stone are vividly lifelike. Ganlu Spring, Zimu Spring, and Shengjing Spring flow murmuringly. The Longling Clear Cloud, the top of the eight ancient scenic spots of Tengzhou, is Longshan Mountain in the north of Tengzhou. Because it is shaped like a dragon. After the rain, the sky clears up, and auspicious clouds surround it, it is gorgeous and colorful, hence the name. Wang Zheng praised it in a poem: ‘The clouds follow the dragon and pour down rain. Emerging from the mountain shows the heart of helping the world. The colorful glow transforms into a round auspicious mist. The beautiful brocade is scattered on the high peaks. You can take bus No. 208 in Tengzhou urban area directly to reach it.
