Gao Shan Theatre has undertaken several improvement projects since 1995, primarily transforming the original venue into an all-weather indoor theatre. It has also improved stage equipment and added facilities such as rehearsal rooms and conference rooms.
Apart from being one of the few Cantonese opera performance venues in Kowloon, Gao Shan Theatre also hosts large-scale lantern festivals in conjunction with Gao Shan Road Park during the Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
