Langcun is an administrative village under the jurisdiction of Zhangcun Town at the source of the Huangpu River. The trickling stream running through the whole village is an important tributary of the source of the Huangpu River and the source of the Xitiaoxi River, the mother river of Anji. The ‘Fengyi Bridge’ on the stream was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of more than one hundred years and is also one of the eight ancient bridges in Anji County.
Langcun lies at the foot of Longwang Mountain. Because it is located at the junction of Anji, Lin’an and Ningguo, it has been known since ancient times as ‘one pass and four strategic passes, an important town in the Southern Song Dynasty’ and ‘seven wells and one pass, a prosperous city in Jiangnan’. After more than a century of reproduction and growth, there are now more than 500 She ethnic people in Langcun. It is a relatively large provincial-level ethnic village in Huzhou. The She people call themselves ‘Shanha’, meaning guests living in the mountains. The unicorn and phoenix are the totems of the She ethnic group, and ‘Lei, Lan, Zhong, Pan’ are the four major surnames of the She ethnic group. Through continuous excavation, collation, application and unremitting exploration and innovation by the diligent She people, the ethnic culture of Langcun has formed its own characteristics and brands. ‘A large village of folk culture’, ‘a famous village of She ethnic culture’ and ‘a strong village of leisure industry’ have become the golden business cards of the most beautiful She village. ‘She ethnic sacrifices and wooden drum dances’ have been successfully selected into the list of intangible cultural heritages in Zhejiang Province. ‘She ethnic style snacks’ such as black rice, glutinous rice cakes, green dumplings, zongzi, Shanha wine and She family tofu are the inheritance of ethnic culture. Langcun has thus become one of the top ten tourist attractions of intangible cultural heritages in Zhejiang Province. In order to develop the leisure tourism industry of Langcun, in 2019, Langcun introduced the She Village Starry Sky Glass Rafting, which starts from the top of Gaosha Mountain and ends at Fenglin Square. It is about 1500 meters in length and has a total drop of 80-100 meters. The starry sky rafting combines the advantages of traditional rafting and glass rafting. Without destroying the original forms such as alpine canyons and natural rivers and the forest vegetation, through scientific and technological means, the natural river is upgraded and transformed to create a safe, controllable, thrilling and exciting tourism project. It is called ‘the roller coaster on the wave crest’ by the majority of tourists! It is worth mentioning that the She Village Starry Sky Rafting has newly integrated starry sky elements, allowing tourists to experience the thrills and excitement brought by rafting while being immersed in the ocean of stars to feel romance and warmth.The opening hours are from May 1st to October 8th, 11:00-16:30.
