Anti-Japanese Base Site in Zhejiang (Siming Mountain)

During the Anti-Japanese War, Siming Mountain was one of the 19 bases across the country, making an indelible contribution to the Chinese revolution. Countless revolutionaries shed their blood and laid down their lives here, leaving behind numerous red revolutionary sites such as the Siming Mountain Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern District Committee of the Communist Party, the former site of the Political Department of the New Fourth Army’s Zhejiang Eastern Guerrilla Column, the former site of the Command Headquarters of the New Fourth Army’s Zhejiang Eastern Guerrilla Column, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Administrative Office, and the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Anti-Japanese Military and Political Cadre School.

In the 2005 selection of the ‘Top Ten Red Tourism Scenic Spots in China’ jointly organized by the Central Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee’s ‘Party Building’ magazine and the China Red Tourism Network, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern (Siming Mountain) Anti-Japanese Base was rated as one of the ‘Top Ten Red Tourism Scenic Spots in China’.

On May 25, 2006, the former site of the Zhejiang Eastern Anti-Japanese Base was designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council and the Ministry of Culture as part of the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

The site is open all year round from 08:30 to 16:30, with specific business status subject to the day’s opening conditions.
