Chongqing’s immersive digital art museum debuts with the inaugural exhibition ‘Time Imprint: Immersive Art Master Exhibition’, showcasing over a hundred masterpieces from nine 19th-century master artists. The approximately 2000 square meters of exhibition space is enhanced with sound, light, and shadow, incorporating naked-eye 3D technology, 4K high-definition imaging, and interactive design technology to create a fully sensory and ultra-immersive light and shadow art experience.

As the opening work of ArTech Hub Art Magnetic Field, ‘Time Imprint’ displays the classic works of nine artists including Mucha, Degas, Millet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Matisse, Mondrian, and Seurat. Each artist’s work has an independent exhibition area, and is presented with different high-tech techniques based on the characteristics and creation stories of their works. As we tour through, we can feel the grandeur and vividness of art.

The colorful palette of Gaudi, the gorgeous goddesses of Mucha, the soft figures of Degas’ ballet dancers, the simple pastoral scenes of Millet, Van Gogh’s dreamlike starry sky, Kandinsky’s jumping triangles, Matisse’s bright brushstrokes, Mondrian’s color composition, and Seurat’s free association of points, lines, and planes… These well-known artists from human history, with their classic works, have crossed over from their times to Chongqing’s ancient town of Ciqikou, using 3D dynamics, holographic projection, multimedia interaction, and classical music to take you into their art world, a shocking historical scene, a golden age of 19th-century European art history.

Entering ‘Time Imprint’ is like stepping into a magical world. The artists’ brushstrokes are magnified, rotated, and swayed, with music playing in your ears that dances with the brushstrokes, and you too become a note, a color, feeling an unprecedented romance. What is art? Maugham wrote in ‘The Moon and Sixpence’: ‘Art is the expression of emotion, and art is a language that everyone can understand.’ Usually, art is perceived. ‘Time Imprint’ amplifies this perception with new multimedia technologies. Immersed in ‘Time Imprint’, wrapped in art, time seems to stand still, leaving only admiration for art and beauty.

Unlike ordinary art exhibitions, the uniqueness of ‘Time Imprint’ lies in its high-definition recreation of these classic masterworks through multimedia means, and its reinterpretation of the life trajectories of these art masters from the perspective and wisdom of contemporary digital artists, allowing these classics to shine with new vitality in the modern era. Each visitor, as an observer and participant, will create their own unique ‘Time Imprint’ in this journey.

The exhibition ‘Time Imprint’ introduces technology from a South Korean multimedia team and was once popular in Seoul, South Korea. At that time, the exhibition was held in the art museum downstairs of G-Dragon’s house and was visited and used as a shooting location by many celebrities including G-Dragon. When technology joins hands with art and classics travel through time and space, experiencing the artistic visual effects brought by these nine art masters in the thousand-year-old ancient town of Ciqikou will surely subvert your imagination.
