This exhibition will focus on presenting the last series created by Carseboom before his death, ‘Walchensee’. During his later years of recuperation, the artist created a series of landscape paintings with the mountains, waters and lake views by Walchensee in the German Alps as the motif. These works condense his long-term painting context from the early stage of artistic exploration to his entry into the field of art. Each painting has a unique language. It is both a tribute to art history and shows his inner world. The exhibition will also juxtapose ‘scholar’s rocks’ under the oriental aesthetic system, explore the ‘daily routine’ of ancient people when appreciating and playing with rocks to understand the natural landscapes, and the Zen meditation state when viewing miniature natural landscapes. It provides a new perspective for the audience in the context of oriental culture. From the ‘traveler’ in miniature landscapes to the ‘viewer’ feeling Carseboom’s natural creations, the audience will understand the connection between the landscape depictions in Western paintings and the spirit of oriental landscapes in a Zen atmosphere.

Opening hours: from October 13th to January 5th. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
