The Badaling Great Wall is known as one of the nine passes in the world. The scenery combines majestic steepness and beautiful lushness. It is the essence of the scenery of the Ming Great Wall. ‘He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.’ Many Chinese people choose this place as the main place to climb the Great Wall. The Badaling Great Wall pass city is trapezoidal with a narrow east and a wide west, and there are two gates on the east and west.
The inscription on the east gate is ‘Juyong Outer Town’, and the inscription on the west gate is ‘North Gate Key’. The Great Wall extending north from the pass city is the North Great Wall, with 12 enemy towers. To the south of the pass city is the South Great Wall, with 7 enemy towers. Compared with the North Great Wall, there are fewer tourists on the South Great Wall. If time permits, you can walk on the South Great Wall first and then on the North Great Wall. In addition to climbing the Great Wall at the pass city, there are also entrances to climb the wall on the south 4th floor, north 4th floor, north 8th floor and north 11th floor, all of which can lead to the Great Wall. Among them, the north 8th floor is the enemy tower with the highest altitude on the Badaling Great Wall, also known as the ‘Sun Observation Platform’. It is more than 1,500 meters away from the pass city and is a great place to overlook the Great Wall. There are also cableways at the south 4th floor and north 8th floor. Tourists who don’t want to walk can take the cableway directly to the enemy tower. After playing, take the cableway back. It can save energy and make the tour easy. Surrounding catering The Badaling Great Wall scenic area has a commercial pedestrian street. After climbing the Great Wall and getting tired, you can rest and have a meal here after going down the mountain. In addition to the high-end and atmospheric Badaling Hotel (a foreign-related hotel), there are also old Beijing-style restaurants such as noodles with soybean paste, Go Believe, and dumpling restaurants, as well as fast food such as Subway and Yonghe Soymilk.
