Badaling National Forest Park features the essence of red leaf viewing at Red Leaves Ridge. This scenic area spans nearly a thousand acres and boasts over 50,000 red leaf trees (Chinese smoketree), adjacent to the Ruined Great Wall and located on the southern slope of the hill where the Zhan Tianyou Memorial Bronze Statue stands. The red leaves of Fragrant Hill are composed of Chinese smoketree leaves and maple leaves.

In Badaling National Forest Park, there are three main types of red leaf trees: Chinese smoketree, golden catalpa, and torch tree, with a multitude of other colorful tree species available. The red leaves here are particularly vibrant, with a very pure color, filled with the charm of the mountains and forests. A distinctive feature is the ability to walk through the red leaf forest, allowing for an up-close appreciation of the red leaves.
