Baihe Canyon is a large river canyon that flows from Baihebao Reservoir in the northeast of Yanqing County through Huairou and into Miyun Reservoir. The upper half of the canyon is from Baihebao Reservoir to Tanghekou in Huairou. Baihebao Reservoir is a scenic spot. After that is Xiaoshuikou, an important pass of the outer Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty. This is a natural canyon with relatively complete original features.

It is known as one of the ‘three major canyons in Kyoto’ together with the Gongting Gorge of Yongding River and the Juma River Canyon. Because of its magnificent scenery, Baihe Canyon is also known as the ‘Hundred Mile Gallery’. In addition, there is a majestic scenery similar to the ‘Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon’ in the valley called ‘Yuntai Scenic Spot’, which is worth a visit. The roads along the canyon are steep.

Therefore, it is suitable for natural exploration tours full of adventurous spirit. Entering the canyon from the northeast direction of the dam of Baihebao Reservoir in Yanqing County, you can appreciate the style of the canyon. Nearly 100-meter-high cliffs split the surging Baihe River like sharp swords. The majestic Ming Dynasty Great Wall winds and stretches among the mountains. There are steep cliffs on both sides of the river.

Mountain springs converge into a mighty torrent. The strange scenery of nature is quite shocking. Going upstream along the Baihe River from Miyun County until the northern foot of Yunmeng Mountain, you will reach the magnificent part of Baihe Canyon. Here, the mountains are steep. On both sides of the road hanging between the mountains are sheer cliffs. After a thrilling journey through the gaps between stones, moving forward, you will reach a more spectacular area.

Climbing onto the stone platform hanging by the roadside, you can have a panoramic view of the lofty mountains and the meandering Baihe River. The scenery is extremely beautiful.
