Bailongwan Spring is located on the southwest side of Wan Zhu Garden. The rectangular-shaped pool covers an area of 1500 square meters and, together with the surrounding Yinku Pool, forms a large water system that remains abundant throughout the year, never drying up even during long periods of drought. After reconstruction, the Bailongwan Spring is lined with bluestone banks, surrounded by peculiar rocks, and shaded by willow trees. The clear spring water surges upward, creating a broad water surface that often attracts birds and animals to play in the water. According to folklore, Bailongwan was originally a muddy bay where the Dragon King’s son, Xiao Bai Long, was punished for breaking the heavenly rules. Seeing the difficulty of the local people in accessing water, he caused a clear spring to gush from the muddy bay, turning it into a spring-rich clear water bay. To honor Xiao Bai Long’s benevolence, the people named the water bay Bailongwan. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily operating conditions.
