Bailudong Temple is situated on the southern side of Yubingshan Mountain in Xiamen, facing the Huxiyan Mountain. Located behind Huxiyan, the area is characterized by collapsing rocks and gorges. The site also features the Daguan Building, Xianshan Pavilion, Buddhist temples, and monastic quarters. From its elevated position, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire island.
Originally, there was a crescent-shaped pond in front of Bailudong, known for its clear and sweet water, referred to as ‘Longquan’ or ‘Congcong Spring’. Above the Longquan Pool stands a stone chamber dedicated to Zhu Xi, named ‘Bailudong’ after the story of Zhu Xi’s teachings at the White Deer Grotto in Lushan, Jiangxi. Inside the cave, there is a clay sculpture of a white deer facing outward. During late spring and early summer, when humidity increases and water vapor rises, a mist emerges, creating a visible, ethereal scene known as ‘White Deer Enveloped in Mist’.

Opening hours are from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00, every day from January 1st to December 31st.
