Baima River Park is located along the Baima River in Fuzhou, Fujian Province. It spans across Gulou District and Taijiang District, with a length of 2.4 kilometers. The first-phase project was completed during the Spring Festival in 1990.
It is planted with banyan trees, bamboo, etc., with subtropical plants as the keynote. There are nearly 80,000 trees (clusters) of arbors and shrubs, among which there are more than 600 big trees with a breast diameter of 15 – 20 centimeters. The overall layout highlights the subtropical scenery.

On the east bank, there is the “Sunflower Garden” mainly composed of palm plants such as Chinese fan palms, fishtail palms, and Areca catechu; the “Banyan Shade Square” with 24 big banyan trees as the main feature, surrounded by high green hedges on three sides and composed of flower bamboo, bougainvillea, etc. in the middle; the “Five Blessings Square” surrounded by mango trees, cotton roses, osmanthus trees, Chinese hibiscus, etc.

In the square, there is a “Five Blessings Pattern Flower Bed” with an area of 457 square meters, which is inspired by Fuzhou folk patterns representing good luck and well-being; the “Lychee Garden” mainly planted with lychee trees, supplemented by carambola trees, Norfolk Island pines, etc.; an ancient city wall battlement is built in a section about 370 meters near the former site of Wushan Library on Huancheng Road.

On the west bank, there is the “Orchid and Osmanthus Garden” mainly composed of fragrant flowers and trees such as Michelia alba, Michelia figo, Aglaia odorata, camellias, Michelia macclurei, and Bauhinia variegata; the “Ancient Banyan Square” centered around an ancient banyan tree, with winding corridors around it; there is also a sculpture square, a croquet court, as well as lawns and flowers. It is a unique riverside park featuring plant landscaping.
