Moquan is located on the southwest side of Longquan Temple in Baimai Spring Park, and it is one of the seventy-two famous springs in Jinan. The spring pool is square-shaped, made of white marble, with a deep dark spring hole and water color as dark as ink, hence the name. The water of Moquan originates from the deep Ordovician limestone karst fissures. The water column rushes out of the spring mouth with a thunderous sound, splashing like snow waves, and flows into the stone channel, grandly descending, earning the reputation of ‘one spring becomes a river’. The words ‘Moquan’ are engraved on the front and back of the spring pool, written by the great calligrapher Mr. Shu Tong. The font is square and thick. The location where Moquan is located was the residence of the Zhangqiu County Committee family from 1966 to 1980, and Mr. Shu Tong, who was the secretary of the Zhangqiu County Committee at that time, lived here. Opening hours are open all year round, 24 hours a day.
