Bairen Beach is about four kilometers northeast of Lingao County seat. In ancient times, it was one of the eight scenic spots of Lingao. Bairen Beach is located at the lower reaches of Wenlan River. Its spray is white and the sound of the waves is loud. The rumbling sound of the beach can be heard in Lingao County seat ten miles away. This is the origin of the famous ‘sound of Bairen Beach’. Scholars and poets of all dynasties often came here in groups, composing poems and couplets, leaving many popular verses.
