Bairen Beach

Bairen Beach is about four kilometers northeast of Lingao County seat. In ancient times, it was one of the eight scenic spots of Lingao. Bairen Beach is located at the lower reaches of Wenlan River. There are many strange rocks and stones in the beach, in various shapes. Looking from afar, it looks like a gathering of human heads. In the Ming Dynasty, it was praised as ‘Bairen Tou Beach’. In the past, the surging Wenlan River flowed northward through this beach. Due to the curved riverbed and the swift current, when encountering the obstruction of rocks, it forms the Bairen waterfall that rushes down rapidly. Its spray is white and the sound of the waves is loud. The rumbling sound of the beach can be heard in Lingao County seat ten miles away. This is the origin of the famous ‘sound of Bairen Beach’. Scholars and poets of all dynasties often came here in groups, composing poems and couplets, leaving many popular verses. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
