The Baishuichong Waterfall is located on Baishui Mountain, four kilometers south of Liangnong Town, Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province. Baishui Mountain is also known as Baishan. It is named because Bai Gong cultivated here and attained enlightenment. There are four peaks on the mountain: Yeshan Peak, Pingshan Peak, Shiwu Peak, and Yungen Peak. Shiwu Peak is full of grotesque rocks and precipitous cliffs; Yungen Peak is verdant and dazzling, and the flowing springs add radiance. Between the two peaks, a curtain of waterfall plunges down from a height of 53 meters. It looks like a white dragon flying into the sky, and the sound is like a thunderclap shaking the earth. It is very spectacular. This is the Baishui Waterfall, commonly known as Baishuichong. Many poets of past dynasties have composed a lot of poems about this waterfall, and the descriptions are all very vivid. For example, Zhao Danshan of the Yuan Dynasty called it: ‘The jade dragon roars and the mountain opens, and the hanging waves burst out and turn towering. The returning wind can turn into flying rain, and together we listen to the thunderous roar of ten thousand valleys.’ Shen Mingchen of the Ming Dynasty also left the verse ‘The murmuring flows like ancient snow and pours back into the Milky Way’. Opening hours: Open all year round from 8:30 to 17:30.
