Baishuijian is a scenic spot quite close to Lin’an urban area. Here, there are large areas of moso bamboo forests, full of green everywhere. There are also countless mountain springs and waterfalls. Although the scenery is not so magnificent, it has its own unique charm. Nowadays, there are not many tourists in Baishuijian. It is a good choice to climb mountains and get close to nature in leisure time.
At the entrance of the scenic area, there is a stone statue, which is Xi Baiyi, the ancestor of the local prominent surname Xi. From here, you can take a section of sightseeing bus to the entrance of the hiking trail. The round-trip transportation cost is included in the ticket. Whether you take it or not, you must purchase it. In fact, the scenic area is not large. The scenery along the way is not bad, and the slope of the road is not steep. Taking a walk is also good. The recommended climbing route is not complicated. Basically, it is a main road that goes back and forth between the scenic area gate and the Baishuixian Bridge. After getting off the sightseeing bus, there are multiple hiking trails up the mountain, but in fact, they are not far apart, and they intersect with each other. The main scenic spots are also distributed along the hiking trails. It is recommended to take the hiking trail on the left close to the stream. Listening to the sound of the stream and enjoying the bamboo forest at the same time is very pleasant. Another thing worth mentioning is the Jianzhen Ancient Road in the bamboo forest. According to legend, Jianzhen once studied Buddhist doctrines here before crossing to the east. The road surface is relatively smooth. One theory is that it is formed by the kneeling of Buddhist believers. You might as well take a walk and experience it. There are amusement projects such as surfing and slides along the way. The price is not expensive and it is quite exciting. If you are interested, you can participate. When about two-thirds of the way is completed, there is a bamboo forest maze. This project is included in the general admission ticket and there is no need to purchase an additional ticket. You can enjoy the scenery and take pictures inside. There are sculptures of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs inside the maze, and it is easy to walk out. When you come here, you might as well calm down and smell it. The fragrance of moso bamboo is wafting. Most tourist groups return after reaching the bamboo forest maze. If you are traveling independently, it is recommended to continue forward. After the maze, there are multiple waterfalls in the subsequent journey. You can see landscapes such as Old Cattle Bathing in the Stream, Wild Trees Loving the Spring, Three-tiered Immortal Spring, and Baishuixian Bridge. Although they are all waterfalls, they have different forms. You can experience the beauty of nature all the way. In addition, on the right side of the normal hiking trail, there is a mountain road leading to ‘Immortal Peak’. It is not a conventional tourist route, and not many people go there. The village at the entrance of Baishuijian scenic area has retained many old Hui-style buildings. The villagers still live a traditional rural life and have a strong ancient village flavor. There are some farmhouse inns at the entrance of the scenic area.
