Baisuigong is located on Mount Jiuhua, 50 kilometers southeast of Chizhou City. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty and has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. Inside the temple, the physical body of Monk Wuxia of the Ming Dynasty is enshrined. Because he lived to be 126 years old before passing away, the temple is named ‘Baisuigong’. After Wuxia passed away, his body has remained uncorrupted. It is the oldest physical body existing in Mount Jiuhua. Therefore, Baisuigong is one of the temples that must be visited when coming to Mount Jiuhua. The main building of Baisuigong has white walls and black tiles and is arranged in a long and narrow shape along the cliff from north to south, just like a city wall.
Crossing the mountain gate on the south side is a courtyard with incense burners. To the north is the Great Buddha Hall. The plaque on the hall door has the words ‘Imperially Bestowed Baisuigong, National Protection, Wannian Temple’ written by Li Yuanhong. The physical body hall can be entered through the side door of the Great Buddha Hall. Opening hours: Open all year round from 06:00 to 17:00. Must-see tips: Monkeys are concentrated in the area of Baisuigong. Avoid playing with them and beware of scratches.Baisuigong
