Baiwangshan Forest Park covers an area of more than 2,000 mu and is located three kilometers north of the Summer Palace. Baiwangshan is a peak where the Taihang Mountains extend to the eastern end of the North China Plain. It is known as ‘the first peak of the Taihang outpost’. Every golden autumn, the red leaves of Baiwangshan are gorgeous and colorful, translucent red and intoxicating red. It becomes a good place for people to enjoy red leaves.
The main peak of Baiwangshan is 210 meters above sea level, abruptly tall and straight. Climbing the main peak and looking into the distance, the land of Beijing is magnificent. It is a good place for climbing and sightseeing. The park has dense forests and a vegetation coverage rate of over 95%. The air contains rich negative oxygen ions and is known as the oxygen source of Beijing. There is a forest of steles of capital green culture in the park. According to the mountain terrain, scenes are set in the forest, and steles are set in the scenes. There are stele pavilions, stele corridors and stele art walls respectively. More than 1,000 steles engraved with inscriptions by well-known people in society and works of calligraphy and painting artists are inlaid. It is said that this is the battlefield where Yang Liulang fought against the Liao soldiers, and the place where Lady She cheered for her son. Therefore, Baiwangshan is also called Wang’er Mountain. So far, there are still relics such as Lady She’s Temple and Jiaozitai. Opening hours: Open all year round from 07:00 to 17:00.
