Bai Xiang Ju is a 24-story building, resembling a large Rubik’s Cube, constructed in 1992 and home to nearly 300 households. Despite the absence of elevators from the first to the 24th floor, residents must climb the stairs. The designer, leveraging Chongqing’s geographical features of being close to water and mountains, created unique access points on different floors leading to various directions, thus alleviating the hardship of climbing stairs.
The first floor leads to the Yangtze River Binjiang Road, the 10th floor to Bai Xiang Street, and the 15th floor to Jiefang East Road. The building offers an expansive view, making it an ideal spot for enjoying river scenery. Upon entering Bai Xiang Ju and ascending to the 15th floor, one encounters the corridor featured in the movie ‘Hot Pot Hero’. The opening hours and business status are subject to the day’s availability.Bai Xiang Ju: A Unique Architectural Marvel in Chongqing
