The Mountain Top Park is about one and a half kilometers up from Nengren Temple. There are two plaques on the pavilion inscribed with ‘Morning View of Baiyun’ and ‘Evening View of Baiyun’, which were inscribed by General Zhang Yunyi. Standing on the pavilion and looking into the distance, you can see the clear waters of the Pearl River and the buildings in Yangcheng. From the mountain top square, traveling southeast along the mountain path and passing Yifeng Teahouse and Yunyan, you can reach the ‘First Peak in the South of Heaven’. Here, a curved stone railing surrounds a towering and huge stone memorial archway. On the front of the archway are the five large characters ‘First Peak in the South of Heaven’. At this place, the mountains are high and the ridges are steep, and the scenery is magnificent. Leaning on the stone railing and looking into the distance to the south, beyond the fluffy white clouds, the Pearl River is like a belt, running across the suburbs of Guangzhou. The scenery of Guangzhou and its suburbs is all in sight.
