Baizhang Waterfall is located in the Daruoyan Scenic Area of Nanxi River, also known as Fuyan Waterfall and Fu’an Waterfall. With a height of 124 meters, it is the second largest waterfall in Zhejiang Province. The waterfall plunges from a cliff of 124 meters, surrounded on three sides with sheer cliffs, slightly concave, resembling a vertical cross-section of a large jade steamer. It appears as if a thousand feet of white silk is hanging from the Milky Way. Depending on the season and climate, the shape of the waterfall is also very changeable and mysterious. During the rainy season, the waterfall is like a jade dragon descending, galloping horses, and the water spray can soak clothing up to fifty to sixty meters away. In dry weather, the waterfall turns into strands of silver silk, ethereal and hazy, and sitting by the pool is a comfortable and pleasant experience. The Ming Dynasty poet Wang Shuguo praised it in his poem: ‘The jade steamer leans against the clouds, with a hundred-foot waterfall hanging down. It seems to converge from the three islands and disperse into the nine dragon pools. The sun shines, and the rainbow forms colors, the wind turns, and the rain blows silk. When will the rain be abundant, and the four fields will be moistened.’ Next to Baizhang Waterfall, there are also peculiar rock formations such as Tianzhu Peak, A Fragrance, and Beauty Rock. There were ancient pavilions like Xiaoyi Pavilion and Pian Yun Pavilion, said to be built by Song Dynasty scholar Chen Kui.
