Bajing Terrace is located in Beiba Jing Park, Ganzhou City, and was constructed during the Jiajian era of the Northern Song Dynasty (1056-1063 AD). It was named after the prefect Kong Zonghan built the terrace and then drew ‘Qianzhou Ba Jing Tu’ (Map of Eight Sights of Qianzhou), from which he sought poems from Su Shi. Many literati of different dynasties have inscribed verses here.
Built against the city wall, Bajing Terrace consists of three levels, with a height of 28.5 meters and a total area of 574 square meters. Its vermillion walls and green tiles create a magnificent and grand appearance, standing on the ancient city wall where the Zhanggong and Ganjiang rivers converge. Upon ascending the terrace and looking into the distance, one can see the clear waves, white sails, green trees, and red buildings. The river breeze blows directly towards you, making one feel refreshed and delighted. The terrace is open all year round from 8:00 to 20:00.Bajing Terrace
