Banyuewan Beach is located in the northeast of Weihai urban area and within Sunjiatuan Town. It is part of Heqing Bay. It is named after its crescent-shaped harbor. In the past, it was called Gushi Li. It got its name because it is located between the southern and northern Gushi Tou (now known as southern and northern Guitou) headlands. It was a fishing port in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The bay entrance opens to the east, about 0.6 kilometers wide. The water area is about 0.3 square kilometers, and the water depth is less than 10 meters. There are many sandy beaches on the west bank.
