Baochu Pagoda, standing as an iconic landmark on Gem Mountain, faces the Leifeng Pagoda across the lake. The current structure, admired by visitors today, was rebuilt in 1933 and underwent reinforcement in the 1990s.
Surrounding the pagoda, one can find large rocks and stone benches, providing a perfect resting spot for visitors to enjoy the picturesque views of West Lake. Despite the pagoda not being climbable, it remains a favorite among photographers who capture the majestic Gem Mountain and the towering Baochu Pagoda in their frames. The scene is particularly stunning when the evening light bathes the area and the lights come alive at night, making it a quintessential ‘standard photo’ of West Lake.
The pagoda is open to the public all year round, with 24-hour accessibility.
