Baodao Ridge stands as a towering peak within the Jishan Mountain Range in Yongchuan, with an elevation of 1026 meters. The mountain is characterized by its towering height and treacherous terrain, with steep wings and a peak that resembles a cone, making the ridge thin like a blade, with the narrowest points being less than a meter wide.
At Baodao Ridge, mist wraps around the peak, creating a dreamlike, smoky atmosphere. In spring, various mountain flowers bloom, and the woods are filled with greenery, presenting a splendid array of colors; during the summer and autumn, wild fruits in shades of red and green fill the air with a refreshing fragrance, and the vegetation is lush and vibrant; in winter, snowflakes gently fall, adding to the mountain’s stark beauty. Although paved with stone slabs, visitors are still left with a sense of awe when they gaze at the cliffs on either side, akin to a tightrope walk in acrobatics, yet safe without danger. Upon reaching the summit, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Chongqing’s Jinyun Mountain, Gele Mountain, Wenquan Mountain, Zhongliang Mountain, Dazu, and Rongchang, all clearly visible and breathtakingly beautiful; looking down, the city of Yongchuan is spread out below, with the Xiao’anxi River to the west, the Jiulong River to the east, and the Linjiang River to the south, encircling Yongchuan like three jade belts, resembling the ancient seal script character for ‘Yong’; beneath one’s feet, the Jishan and the Nanfacing Huanggua Mountain form the central vertical stroke, the Bayue Mountain and Ying Mountain to the west form the left stroke, and the Yunwu Mountain to the east completes the right vertical stroke, presenting a massive pictographic character ‘Chuan’ before one’s eyes. The ridge is open all year round, with 24-hour access, subject to the specific operating conditions on any given day.Baodao Ridge: A Majestic Peak in Yongchuan
