The Baofeng Zen Temple was built in the early Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 600 years. According to local county annals, during the Hongwu period, villagers often heard the sound of bells and drums coming from the Lion Roar Cave on Baofeng Mountain at night. So people went in groups to explore what was going on. Seeing the flickering lights in the Lion Roar Cave and the manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva in the cave, the story of the appearance of the holy spread. Villagers came to offer incense and worship one after another. Soon, people molded the golden body of the Bodhisattva for people to look up to and worship. There is also a spring in the cave. Its taste is sweet and it flows continuously. So far, the source of the spring is unknown. Open all year round and all day long.
