Baofeng Zen Temple, originally established in the early Ming Dynasty, has a history of over six hundred years. According to local county records, during the Hongwu era, villagers often heard the sound of bells and drums emanating from the Lion Roar Stone Cave on Baofeng Mountain at night. Curious, they would gather to explore the mystery. Upon entering the cave, they discovered flickering lights and the manifestation of the Guanyin Bodhisattva within, which led to the spread of the miraculous event. Subsequently, villagers began to visit to offer incense and worship, eventually sculpting a golden statue of the Bodhisattva for veneration. Inside the cave, there is also a spring with a sweet taste, flowing continuously, the source of which remains unknown to this day. The temple is open all year round, accessible every day.
