The Shekou Cruise Homeport is a modern international cruise homeport integrating ‘sea, land, air and rail’, a maritime gateway and a comprehensive cruise hub. Under the guidance and support of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, with the concept of creating a’maritime reception hall’, the Bay Area maritime tour business is creatively launched to create a maritime scene of the lifestyle of middle and high-end customer groups. On August 26, 2020, China’s first comprehensive high-end Bay Area micro-cruise ship ‘Greater Bay Area No.1’ set sail; in June 2021, the ‘Greater Bay Area No.2’ micro-cruise ship set sail. At present, the Bay Area maritime tour business operates three routes: the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge route, the Shenzhen Bay route, and the Qianhai Bay route.
I. Hong Kong-Zhaui-Macau Bridge Route

Since September 1, 2020, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge route has been newly opened, passing through Shekou Cruise Homeport – SCT Terminal – Neilingding Island – Baihuitun Island (Western Artificial Island) – Niutou Island – Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. 1. Shekou Cruise Homeport


Shekou Cruise Homeport officially started operation on November 12, 2016. In the same period, it was awarded as the ‘China Cruise Tourism Development Experimental Zone’. Taking the micro-cruise ship in the Greater Bay Area, you will get a panoramic view of the homeport from the sea.


2. Neilingding Island, Lintin Ocean


Neilingding Island was originally named Lingding Mountain or Lingding Hill. It got its name because it is alone in the sea. Later, to distinguish it from Wailingding Island, its name was changed. The Neilingding Island – Futian Nature Reserve was established in October 1984 and was promoted to a nature reserve in May 1988, with a total area of about 921.64 hectares.


3. Western Island

4. Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge

4 Offshore Drilling Platform


The ‘South China Sea No. 9’ is a semi-submersible drilling platform operated by China National Offshore Oil Corporation, other than ‘Haiyang Shiyou 981’. It has a significant drilling depth of 7,620 meters, marking a major breakthrough in China’s deep-water drilling technology.


5 Mazhou Island


Mazhou Island, located near the Shenzhen Shekou waters at the mouth of the Pearl River, consists of two islands that are very close to each other, resembling twin brothers. The term ‘Ma’ is a Cantonese nickname for ‘twins’. Surrounded by water, Mazhou Island is home to the Youlian Ship Repair Base, known as the ship repair base in South China.


6 Dachan Island


Dachan Island, named for its shape resembling a shovel, is the second-largest island in Shenzhen. Together with the nearby Xiaochan Island and Mazhou, they are collectively known as the ‘Big and Small Shovel Islands’. Dachan Island’s strategic position is prominent as the throat of the Pearl River estuary. In the 25th year of the Guangxu era (1899), the Qing government established a customs office on Dachan Island. There is also a remnant of Lin Zexu’s merit stele on Dachan Island, adding a significant historical and cultural touch to the island.


7 Gazing at ‘Bay Area Light’ and Qianhai City Cluster (Note: This route does not pass by Happy Bay)


As the cruise ship approaches the Yanjiang Expressway Bridge, you can gaze at the Happy Bay and the distinctive urban cluster of Qianhai. Happy Bay is a contemporary art and cultural district that integrates sea views, parks, ecology, and commerce. You can also observe the country’s first all-weather panoramic gondola Ferris wheel, with each gondola accommodating 16 people.
The 8-square-meter space becomes a ‘romantic first-class cabin’ that can accommodate 25 people. There are a total of 28 carriages and it is a representative landmark of Shenzhen.


Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. Tickets must be purchased 10 minutes in advance. Boarding is required 20 minutes in advance.


Preferential policies for children: Children under 1 year old (inclusive) can purchase free child tickets. Each adult passenger can bring two children with free tickets. When there are more than two, those in excess should purchase child tickets. Free of charge. Children from 1 year old (exclusive) to 6 years old (exclusive) can purchase child tickets (half price for non-theme voyages).


Preferential policies for the elderly: For the elderly aged 65 years old (inclusive) and above, the preferential policy for senior tickets is 85% off the adult individual benchmark ticket. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao route is only effective on weekdays and there is no discount on weekends. The Shenzhen Bay route and Qianhai Bay route enjoy discounts on weekdays and weekends.
