Beihai Seaside Park is located in the north of the urban area. The aquarium in Area A of the park is a relatively large aquatic products exhibition hall in China. It has a construction area of 1600 square meters and is divided into seven exhibition rooms, as well as aquariums, turtle ponds, and seal ponds. In the aquatic area, there are specimens of manatees (mermaids) listed as precious protected animals, as well as marine life exhibits such as a 600-year-old turtle (the largest in the country and weighing a thousand catties), whale skeletons weighing more than 10,000 catties, lobster specimens weighing several kilograms, the famous “South Pearls”, a live turtle over 100 kilograms and over a hundred years old, and dozens of subtropical fish species in the Beibu Gulf Sea area being cultured.
