The Beihai Nan Zhu Museum is located adjacent to the Underwater World National AAAA Scenic Area in Beihai City. It is one of the 26 key projects of the Silk Road Cultural Industry by the Ministry of Culture in 2015 and is also one of the 100 museums planned and constructed by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The museum is a comprehensive one themed around the Nan Zhu pearls.
With the theme of ‘openness, inclusiveness, harmony, and innovation’, the museum focuses on the history of Nan Zhu pearls, set against the backdrop of Nan Zhu culture, and gradually recreates six wonders: ‘the essence of the ocean’, ‘the spiritual totem of three thousand years’, ‘the magical pearl’, ‘the royal favorite’, ‘the glory of Nan Zhu’, and ‘meticulously crafted’. The museum houses over a thousand precious cultural relics, including marine life specimens, skeletal specimens, shell specimens, and pearl specimens. Particularly, the museum’s treasures, the Chinese large natural seawater pearls ‘Nan Zhu Giant’ and ‘Crown of the Ocean’, are rare and precious.

To provide visitors with a better experience of the three-thousand-year history of Beihai, the museum is equipped with guides who offer detailed explanations of the historical development. Opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 all year round.
