The Beijing Aquarium is located in the Beijing Zoo. Inside the aquarium, you can observe various marine animals in different shapes. Rainforest Wonders: Feel the rich tropical atmosphere. The entrance of the aquarium is on its south side. After entering from the south side, it is the Rainforest Wonders area. It is composed of the shark pavilion and the fishing port town. The giant pool body is 6.4 meters high and 33 meters long. The water depth is 5.1 meters. The bottom area of the pool is 263 square meters, and the total water storage capacity is 1400 tons. Its design comprehensively considers factors such as shark species, quantity and body length, bait structure required by sharks, water quality requirements, swimming habits, living habits and future tourist participation and interactivity. Opposite the shark pavilion, a modern fishing port town has been built to show tourists the unique style of a ‘fisherman’s wharf’. Bering Strait Town: Observe the lovely beluga whales up close. Next to the beachy area is the Bering Strait Town area. This area is relatively small and is a paradise for two polar beluga whales. You can see the lovely beluga whales in the water through the panoramic large glass window. You can also see the romantic scene of the keeper feeding the beluga whales and dancing with them. National Treasure Chinese Sturgeon Pavilion: Witness the scene of feeding rare fish. After passing through Bering Strait Town, in front is the rare fish pavilion. Inside the pavilion, interesting popular science display boards help tourists understand the story and living habits of this kind of fish. Here, multiple national treasure fish are raised. You can get close to observe this rare fish species and also see the scene of feeding the national treasure fish. Underwater Tour: Walk in the romantic underwater world. Coming out of the Chinese sturgeon pavilion, the entrance to the Underwater Tour is here. Walking underwater along the tour route, you will pass through multiple separated areas such as the South China Sea, the Western Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean. The species in each area are also different, each with its own characteristics. A variety of fish swim overhead for you to enjoy to your heart’s content. The scene is also very vivid and romantic.Whale and Dolphin Bay: After greeting the sea lions and dolphins, you can visit Whale and Dolphin Bay. The main fish here are sea lions and dolphins.
