The Beijing Book Building is divided into several sections for the sale of publications: The underground floor is dedicated to original edition books, making it one of the larger comprehensive retail venues for original edition books in Beijing. The first floor is for social science books, including legal military, history and geography, economic management, financial management, trade finance, real estate, travel geography, ethnic books, fine books, encyclopedias. The second floor features children’s books and literature and art books, including early childhood reading, preschool education, children’s literature, children’s art, children’s science popularization, literary theory, Chinese and foreign literature, poetry and prose, art theory, music and dance, fine arts photography, calligraphy and seal cutting, ancient books appreciation. The third floor is for cultural education books and audio-visual products, including educational theory, textbooks, foreign language materials, student dictionaries, comprehensive education, audio-visual products, electronic books. On the southwest side of the third floor, there is a digital product section, mainly selling digital cameras, MP3 players, mobile hard drives, and other digital products. The fourth floor is for science and technology books, including popular science books, astronomy and meteorology, geology and mineral resources, biological engineering, medicine, agriculture and forestry, petroleum and chemical industry, metalworking, mechanical industry, power engineering, construction engineering, water conservancy engineering, computer science, light industry and textile, transportation, environmental science, higher mathematics, physics, chemistry, sports fitness, life books, home appliances, standards and specifications, various maps.
