Introduction:
The exhibition is divided into three units: ‘Nangong’s Enfeoffed State’, ‘Eight Hundred Years of Chu Sacrifice’, and ‘Stunning and Extraordinary Splendor’. The exhibition brings together more than 200 precious Zeng and Chu cultural relics from five key museums in Hubei region. There are as many as 45 first-class cultural relics. It includes a series of Zeng and Chu cultural relics of different materials and styles unearthed in Hubei region, such as intricately crafted bronze wares, meticulously carved jade wares, exquisitely crafted lacquer wares, and gorgeous and colorful silk fabrics, which are on centralized display. Zeng Houyi’s base for the drum stand, Zeng Houyi’s bronze ice container, bronze crane with antler, Jian of King Zhougou of Yue, and single-sleeved brocade with dragon, phoenix and tiger patterns show the long history and magnificent art of the two vassal kingdoms of Zeng and Chu. It reflects the latest archaeological academic achievements, displays the charm of the long and splendid Chinese culture, and highlights the profound history and unique position of Hubei as an important place of Yangtze River culture.
