They will step onto the stages of Blue Note Beijing and Blue Note Shanghai on November 22 and 23, 2024 respectively, launching their first China tour since the band’s establishment 45 years ago. ‘Piper’ is selected from the lyrics of Led Zeppelin’s famous song ‘Stairway to Heaven’ that Yamamoto Keisuke loves. One line of the lyrics is ‘Then the piper will lead us to reason’. The founder of the band, Yamamoto Keisuke, was once praised by Yamashita Tatsuro as ‘one of the few outstanding guitarists in Japan’. The Piper band led by him has defined a new era of ambient music with just five albums.
