Imperial Kiln Seasons: Porcelain from the Imperial Kiln Ruins of Jingdezhen

The China Agriculture Museum and the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Museum have jointly launched the ‘Imperial Kiln Seasons – Exhibition of Porcelain from the Imperial Kiln Ruins of Jingdezhen’. As the royal kiln that spanned over five hundred years during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln has always had a close connection with the capital, Beijing, continuously supplying precious porcelain to adorn the royal ceremonies and daily life.

The imperial kiln’s cultural heritage is highly representative, and the ceramics produced reflect significant seasonal and folk characteristics, closely linked to the agrarian civilization, making ceramics a medium and carrier for promoting the ‘agriculture-based ideology’. The exhibition is grounded in the history and present of the imperial kiln’s unearthed porcelain, past and future. By revisiting the long history and brilliant culture of the imperial kiln, from new perspectives and with new interpretations, we can appreciate the profoundness of Chinese culture, feel the far-reaching influence of Chinese porcelain, and experience the new cultural image of the imperial kiln’s unearthed porcelain.

During the exhibition, we will also share with you the important exhibits and academic research results of this exhibition, and release related event information simultaneously. Please join us in opening the door to the art of imperial kiln porcelain and feel the endless charm of traditional Chinese culture!
