The Lantern Festival, with the theme “Beijing Celebrations, Beijing Lanterns,” is a grand event that captures the essence of Beijing’s rich culture and tradition. It is the largest lantern garden event in the city’s history, showcasing over 200 sets of lanterns, which include 75 large-scale lanterns and 100,000 lantern decorations.
The exhibition is a feast for the senses, offering a blend of grand scale, exquisite craftsmanship, and a strong experiential appeal that is distinctly Beijing. The creative lantern groups are designed around the city’s culture and iconic landmarks, presenting unique cultural elements such as cultural relics, traditional Chinese painting, poetry, and Peking Opera through the art of lanterns.
Two standout attractions at the festival are the nearly 100-meter-long ‘Welcome Gate’ large lantern and the 30-meter-wide ‘Lantern Grand Stage,’ both of which will be displayed on site, adding to the grandeur of the event.
The festival opens its gates from September 14th to October 31st, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Beijing’s lanterns. Please note that specific operating conditions may vary depending on the day’s situation.
