The Beijing Municipal Archives is located at No. 31, Nanmofang Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is located between the Third Ring Road and the Fourth Ring Road in the east. It is adjacent to the central business district in the north and faces the sub-center of the city in the east. The straight-line distance from Tian’anmen is 7 kilometers. The geographical location is very superior.

The overall building of the Beijing Municipal Archives is magnificent. In the design, the traditional Chinese central axis symmetry method is adopted, highlighting the historical heaviness of the archives.

The entire building is laid out according to the ‘five-in-one’ functional positioning of the archives. It is internally equipped with archives warehouses, technical rooms, exhibition halls, utilization halls, lecture halls, etc., integrating many functions such as receiving and soliciting, storage and protection, access and utilization, exhibition and display, historical data research, etc.
