The Pinggu hiking trail, a jewel under the jurisdiction of Nandulehe Town and Xiongerzhai Township in Pinggu, is surrounded by national 4A-level scenic spots such as Shilin Gorge, Jingdong Grand Canyon, and Sanyang Ancient Volcano. This trail is a haven for nature lovers, boasting blooming mountain flowers and lush trees with over 85% green vegetation coverage, making the air incredibly fresh. It’s no wonder it’s dubbed a green and ecological trail, perfect for hikers seeking to immerse themselves in nature. As China’s first international standard hiking trail, it starts at Beizhai Village in Nandulehe Town, known for its Chinese apricots, and meanders through the Sizuolou Mountain scenic area before ending at Huayu Village in Xiongerzhai Township. Spanning 23 kilometers, the trail is sparsely populated with wide roads that meet rural tertiary road standards, averaging 7.5 meters in width. The path is predominantly asphalt, with segments of cement pavement and gravel roads interspersed throughout. The journey is divided into a flat road for half the distance, and uphill and downhill sections each accounting for a quarter. Characterized by winding mountain roads, there’s also a 7-kilometer path that branches off from the main trail halfway through.
