The Beijing Planetarium is one of the earliest established planetariums in China, divided into Hall A (the old building) and Hall B (the new building). The planetarium primarily features exciting theater shows, allowing visitors to understand the origin and development of the universe, and to learn astronomical knowledge through activities such as watching high-tech movies that provide thrilling experiences, observing through astronomical telescopes, and visiting exhibitions.

The Star Hall in Hall A is an important section, featuring a 23.5-meter diameter spherical dome, which uses advanced equipment to realistically reproduce approximately 9,000 visible stars from Earth, offering audiences an authentic starry sky experience.

Hall B houses three astronomical theaters: the Space Theater, the 3D Theater, and the 4D Theater, as well as various science education facilities such as the astronomy exhibition hall, solar observation deck, public observatory, and astronomy classrooms. Among them, the Space Theater with a radius of 18 meters boasts a standard hemispherical full-dome screen, capable of presenting a grand and three-dimensional celestial effect to 200 viewers at the same time, which is unique in mainland China.

The 4D Theater not only presents vivid three-dimensional images but also creates effects such as water spray, wind spray, and seat vibration, providing an immersive and fascinating scientific experience. The 3D Theater presents scientific knowledge with realistic and dazzling three-dimensional effects, truly achieving educational entertainment.
