Shangfangshan National Forest Park is located 70 kilometers away from Beijing and is renowned for its peculiar mountains, dense forests, secluded caves, and ancient temples. The park features the famous ‘Nine Caves and Twelve Peaks’, as well as seventy-two temples led by the ‘Dousu Temple’, making it a scenic area that combines forests, caves, temples, mountains, and rocks. It is home to rare secondary forests and dozens of ancient and famous trees in North China, historically known as ‘Secluded Yan Chamber’, and enjoys the reputation of ‘Suzhou and Hangzhou in the south, Shangfang in the north’. The park covers over 5300 acres, with precious trees and exotic flowers scattered throughout, including more than a hundred types of medicinal plants; Polygonatum, Lycium, and Toon are the three specialties of Shangfangshan, known as the ‘Three Treasures’; there are also ancient trees like thousand-year-old pines. Shangfangshan is a famous religious mountain, and to reach the Dousu Temple, one must climb a cloud ladder consisting of 262 steep stone steps. Other main attractions include Yidou Spring, Wanghai Temple, and the Sutra Pavilion.


Opening Hours: The park is open all year round from 09:00 to 15:00.


Preferential Policies: Children: Children aged 6 (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free.


Disabled: Those with a disability certificate enter for free.


Civil Affairs Preferential Card: Holders of the Civil Affairs preferential card enter for free.


Elderly: Beijing residents aged 60 (inclusive) and above with a pension assistance card enter for free (must be accompanied by family members and register at the ticket office).

Students: Students of primary, middle, and high schools (excluding adult education) with a student ID enter at half price.
