The northern area of the Beijing Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is located at the northernmost end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and on the south bank of the mouth of the Tonghui River. There is the Rantan Pagoda of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, a landmark building of the Grand Canal cultural belt. The Rantan Pagoda is also the highest altitude point in Tongzhou District, Beijing. There are also the Youshengjiao Temple of the Northern Qi Dynasty, the Confucian Temple of the Yuan Dynasty and the Ziqin Palace of the Ming Dynasty.


The cultural building complex in the northern area witnesses the birth, development, and repeated declines and glories of the canal transportation culture. It is a famous historical site in Beijing and a shining pearl by the Grand Canal, a world cultural heritage.



Opening hours: Open from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year, 09:00 – 17:00.
