Beijing West Road is a major east-west artery located in Jing’an and Huangpu districts, formerly known as Avenue Road. It starts from Tibet Middle Road in the east and extends to Urumqi North Road in the west. Beijing West Road is roughly parallel to Nanjing West Road in the south and Xinzha Road in the north.
The eastern end of Beijing West Road, east of Park Road (Huanghe Road), was constructed in 1887 and named Pingqiao Road. In 1899, it was extended westward to Hart Road (now Changde Road) and renamed Avenue Road. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
