The immersive XR exhibition ‘Night Banquet in Tang Palace’ is created by Henan Radio and Television Station based on the cultural IP ‘Night Banquet in Tang Palace’. It aims at the immersive communication track and combines Chinese cultural symbols with the world’s most advanced LBE spatial entertainment technology to create a virtual space Tang Palace metaverse. According to Zhang Bin, the person in charge of Henan Radio and Television Elephant Metaverse, the exhibition features oriental aesthetics and uses the most advanced LBE large-space entertainment technology and XR head-mounted display equipment to break the barrier between the real and virtual worlds within a space of 400 to 1000 square meters.
In the 40-minute XR animation plot, audiences can wear head-mounted devices to enjoy prosperous dances and songs and recognize the customs of the Tang Dynasty. After entering the virtual Tang Dynasty world, audiences can follow the Tang sisters to stroll through the prosperous and lively world of the Tang Dynasty. They can also see the true appearance of cultural relics in the metaverse and feel the encounter between Li Bai and Du Fu vividly, experiencing the profoundness and brilliance of Chinese civilization holographically. In order to let audiences better appreciate the beauty of traditional culture, the organizers also take ‘XR immersive exhibition + cultural and creative market + internet-famous check-in spots’ as the theme elements and create a ‘Night Banquet in Tang Palace Carnival’ integrating exhibitions, cultural and creative products, and tourism at the Bird’s Nest, attracting many consumers who like Chinese traditional culture to check in, shop, and consume. To give full play to the market value of cultural IPs and spread traditional culture, at the beginning of 2024, Henan Radio and Television Station built the Elephant Metaverse platform, a co-construction and sharing platform with traditional Chinese culture as the vertical track. On June 6, the ‘Elephant Metaverse’ AI creation and application platform was officially launched.
