The Beishan Footpath in Jiangbei District, Ningbo is about 62 kilometers in length. It starts from Lingshan Village, Zhuangqiao Sub-district and ends at Wuxing Village, Cicheng Town. It is commonly known as the ‘Hundred-mile Leisure Greenway’. The footpath passes through scenic spots such as Baoguo Temple, the ancient town of Cicheng, and Lvye Mountain Villa as well as multiple reservoirs. The covered area is very large, almost encompassing 50,000 mu of mountain forests in Jiangbei District, becoming a large oxygen bar relatively close to the urban area.
The first Ningbo Mountain Marathon was held in May 2014. More than 3,000 marathon enthusiasts from all over the country came to Beishan to participate. For the successful holding of the competition, relevant parties renovated the footpath and opened a mountain climbing footpath system of more than 60 kilometers.
