Above the main entrance of the Beiyang Navy Command Headquarters, a plaque inscribed with ‘Navy Office’ by Li Hongzhang is prominently displayed. On either side of the main gate, images of Qin Qiong and Jing De, painted in gold and lacquer, exude solemnity and majesty.
On the east and west sides of the main gate, there are two pavilions, which serve as the venues for music performances during celebrations and to welcome guests. In front of the pavilions, two classical-style archways are constructed, resembling ancient ceremonial gates. On the square in front of the gate, two flagpoles stand symmetrically, with the Green Dragon military flags fluttering in the wind, adding to the martial grandeur. Twenty meters west of the west archway, a two-story watchtower is built, from which one can overlook all the naval activities in the harbor. Opening hours and business status are subject to the daily operation conditions.
