Shiqiangpu Yao Village in Ru Yuan, Shao Guan, is an excellent destination for experiencing local folk customs and sightseeing. Originally named ‘Bie Bei’, it is a town inhabited by the Yao people in Ru Yuan Yao Autonomous County, located in the heart of the Dayao Mountains, about 50 kilometers northeast of Ru Yuan County. The Bi Bei Yao people belong to the Guoshan clan, a branch of the Yao ethnicity, and are the birthplace of the Yao people living in the United States, Thailand, France, Myanmar, Laos, and other places. Bi Bei Yao Village is an ideal destination for forest ecological tourism and science tourism. It is well-known in Guangdong’s tourism circle with the saying ‘Dan Nan Bi Gu’, where ‘Bi’ refers to Bi Bei, indicating that Bi Bei Yao Village has a certain level of fame and reputation. Within the Bi Bei Yao Village scenic area, the Bi Bei River flows with beautiful scenery on both banks, forming the Huanglong scenic area. The river meanders through towering mountains, and within the village, there are lush green peaks, layered ridges, red cliffs hanging upside down, and extremely steep terrain. Everywhere you look, you can see green pines standing beside rocks, elegant bamboos, tranquil rivers, the boldness of the mountains, and the fierceness of the cliffs, creating a picturesque landscape like a poem.
