On the gentle waves in the south of Dinghai, there is an island that resembles a lazy lying cat. Beside it, there is a small island just like an endearing kitten. This is the origin of ‘Big and Small Cat Islands’. Later, with the implementation of the strategy of building on the big island and relocating on the small island and the policy of withdrawing, expanding and merging townships, in 2001, the township was withdrawn and incorporated into Huannan Street.
Most of the villagers on the island make a living by farming. There is no school, public bus or vegetable market on the island. For fish, meat and other meat dishes needed in daily life, villagers have to take a boat to Dinghai for purchase. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the opening situation on that day.
