Nestled in the gentle waves to the south of Dinghai, there lies an island resembling a reclining cat, accompanied by a smaller island that looks like an adorable kitten. This is the origin of the ‘Big and Little Cat Islands’. Later, with the implementation of the strategy for the development of the larger island and the relocation of the smaller one, along with the policy of township withdrawal, expansion, and merger, the islands were incorporated into Huannan Street in 2001.
Most of the villagers on the island make a living through farming. There are no schools, public buses, or vegetable markets on the island. Residents have to take a boat to Dinghai to purchase fish, meat, and other daily necessities. The opening hours and business status are subject to the day’s conditions.Da Mao Island
