Bingxin Park: A Literary and Cultural Center in Fuzhou

Bingxin Park is located in the heart of Changle, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, known as the ‘Coastal Zou Lu’, and serves as a center for the promotion and study of Bingxin, an international literary exchange center, and a base for patriotic education. Originally named Aixin Park, it covers an area of approximately 4.3 hectares (64 mu). The site was once the Taiping Port of ‘Hangcheng’ during the Ming Dynasty when Zheng He voyaged to the Western Seas, and later it became a fertile field due to siltation. In 1996, it was rebuilt as ‘Aixin Park’ and renamed ‘Bingxin Park’ in 2007 because the main part of the park is the Bingxin Literature Museum.
The park is filled with lush ‘Manila’ grass and thousands of exotic flowers and trees. A crescent-shaped lake, resembling the ancient ‘Taiji’ pattern, is placed in the center of the park. Colorful steel bricks pave the winding paths amidst the towering ‘Manila’ grass, creating a sense of seclusion and tranquility. The paths are occasionally adorned with lampposts and stone chairs and tables. At the end of the paths, there is a stone arch bridge in the style of ancient architecture spanning across the lake. The park is open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
