Binhai Road is located along the eastern and southern coastal areas of Dalian city, collectively referring to Binhai North Road, East Road, Middle Road, and West Road. This coastal highway, stretching over 30 kilometers, is bordered by lush green mountains to the north and the azure sea and diverse reefs and islands to the south. The Binhai Road area boasts fresh air and undulating roads, featuring bridges, viewing walkways, beaches, green spaces, and other landscapes along the way. Binhai Road connects many famous attractions in Dalian from east to west, making it a popular sightseeing route accessible by city tour buses departing from the train station. Hiking enthusiasts can also explore some sections on foot. The eastern Binhai North Road features the picturesque Sea Rhyme Park, while Binhai East Road is home to the summer retreats of Bangchui Island, Shicao Scenic Area, and Laohutan Ocean Park. Binhai Middle Road includes attractions such as Beidaqiao, Yanzaoling, Xiuyue Peak, and Fuzhuang Park, which, when connected to Binhai West Road’s Forest Zoo and Xinghai Square, form a beautiful and photogenic section of Binhai Road suitable for hiking and photography, taking about 3-4 hours to walk through. Binhai Road symbolizes the eternal promise of love as it unites mountains and seas. Couples often visit Binhai Middle Road for wedding photoshoots, and Yanzaoling features a love-themed wedding park, making a stroll here a romantic experience for ordinary visitors as well. Open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
Key Tips:
1. Cycling on Binhai Road is not recommended due to the many uphill and downhill sections that test one’s physical strength and endurance, and there are no dedicated bicycle lanes.
2. The city tour bus operates from mid-April to the end of October, allowing multiple on and off stops at any station during the day, with guides on board.
3. There are no buses that cover the entire Binhai Road, especially the eastern section, which is inconvenient by regular public transport. The city tour bus available during the peak tourist season covers parts of the middle, west, and some eastern attractions, but the stops may change annually. For a full Binhai Road tour, one can hire a taxi or rent a car for self-driving.
4. Taxis on Binhai Road are scarce, and restaurants and shops are generally concentrated around Xinghai Square, Fuzhuang, and Laohutan Ocean Park, with few in other sections. Therefore, hikers should bring water and food.
5. The city tour bus stops along Binhai Road include: Dalian Shell Museum, South Gate of Forest Zoo, Fuzhuang, Yanzaoling Wedding Park, Beidaqiao, Bird Language Forest, Laohutan Ocean Park, Shicao, Bangchui Island, etc.
