Binhai Revolutionary Memorial Hall began planning on December 11, 1994, and was completed on January 6, 1996. It is located in Xinbei Village, northeast of the new street market town in Binhai Town, Wenling City, covering an area of over two acres with a construction area of 484 square meters. The memorial hall houses five exhibition halls: the Great Men Hall, Heroes Hall, Lei Feng Hall, Wenling Hall, and Binhai Hall, along with a 32-meter-long cultural corridor, a merit pavilion, green belts, as well as facilities such as meeting rooms, offices, archives, and finance rooms.
The Great Men Hall features full statues of three great figures and commemorates the great achievements of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries in the prosperity of the Chinese nation and the wealth of the people. The Heroes Hall is divided into three rooms: the first room displays the deeds of advanced individuals who saved the country during the war of resistance against Japan and revolutionary martyrs in the liberation war, bandit suppression, and socialist construction, including 3 local revolutionary pioneers and 11 martyrs from Binhai Town, as well as the first Communist Party member and founder of the party organization in Wenling County, Jin Fuhua, and the leader of the Red Thirteenth Army Second Regiment (Division), Liu Kumin. The second room features a half-statue of Liang Yaonan, a native of Jinzha Village in our town, the first secretary of the Wenling County Committee during the war of resistance against Japan, and his deeds in conducting underground party activities and armed struggle in the town. The third room houses a half-statue of martyr Liu Guangzhen, detailing his revolutionary struggles in his hometown and his tragic death in the bandit suppression battle in Xinjie on March 16, 1950.
Lei Feng Hall stands with a half-statue of Comrade Lei Feng, displaying his stories, biographies, and excerpts from his diaries. Wenling Hall elaborates on the historical evolution, overview, achievements, and development blueprint of Wenling. Binhai Hall introduces the origins and evolution of Binhai Town, showcasing development achievements and characteristic industries. The former command post of the Xinjie bandit suppression is part of the Binhai Revolutionary Memorial Hall. On April 14, 2005, the People’s Government of Wenling City approved it as a ‘Cultural Relic Protection Unit’ located in Baihua Village. It was the place where Comrade Liu Guangzhen, a native of Jiangsu, worked and lived while organizing and directing the militia and villagers in the bandit suppression struggle in Xinjie at the beginning of liberation. The two-story building of the former site originally belonged to four brothers, including Tao Guode, villagers of Baihua Village. To allow the public to deeply remember Martyr Liu Guangzhen, they voluntarily donated it. The Binhai Town Government allocated special funds for renovation, displayed it as it was, and made it available for visits to express eternal memory of Martyr Liu Guangzhen. The hall is open from 09:30 to 11:30 and from 14:30 to 16:30 all year round.
